GROUND iNK were engaged by Blue Mountains City Council as Lead Consultant and Landscape Architect to reinvigorate the Blaxland Town Square or Station Street Mall civic spaces as part of Council’s Blaxland Town Centre Master Plan. Our studio was responsible for developing concept design through to construction review services for this public domain space.

Collaborating with our design team, the GROUND iNK Landscape team developed the design centered around Council’s desire to increase activation and public safety to a tired and underutilised civic space. The design team was challenged to find an innovative solution to providing the space with increased green infrastructure and access to a functional public space constrained by a steeply sloping site to the south and one that is also dominated by a large overhead access ramp connecting the site to the Blaxland railway station located on the opposite side of the Great Western Highway.
