GROUND iNK was appointed as Landscape Architect for the concept design, DA submission and construction documentation for this mid sized mixed-use development in the Melbourne suburb of Northcote. Collaborating with Meydan Architects, GROUND iNK Landscape Architects developed a contemporary and intimate Landscape Design for an mezzanine level communal space based on the rectilinear geometries of the built form.

The space was designed to offer residents with a green, private, enclosed space in which they could either relax, engage socially via the raised deck and steel framed pergola or toil in the 26m2 community vegetable garden.

The palette of materials include, in-situ natural concrete walls and steps, charcoal/grey unit paving, timber and metal linear bench seating. A pergola using tensile steel wires in combination with climbing plants provides the required shade amenity.
